Dr. Bekris is a molecular biologist trained at the University of Washington. She is currently Assistant Staff at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute Genomic Medicine Department and Assistant Professor of Molecular Medicine with the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. She is also affiliate assistant professor with Kent State University Biomedical Department. Dr. Bekris’ research focuses on identifying and characterizing the functional impact of genetic and epigenetic factors on biomarkers of Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative diseases. Alzheimer’s disease biomarker research is a critical component in the development of neurodegenerative disease therapeutics.
