Who?

Shan Simon joined the Cleveland Clinic as a Research Coordinator for the Cleveland Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center Biomarker Core, led by Dr. Lynn Bekris. Shan spent the last 6 ½ years at the Abigail Wexner Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus in different roles that included technical support, study design, data capture, and regulatory compliance.  They have co-authored a publication that examined biomarkers in blood samples to study immune function following burn injury. Shan moved to Cleveland at the end of October with their horse, cat, and two dogs. Outside of work, you’re likely to find them at the barn, supporting the local music scene, or hiking through Cuyahoga National Park.

What?

This is a new position that was created for the Cleveland Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center Biomarker Core.

When?

Shan started their new position on November 13th.

Where?

The CADRC Biomarker Core at Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute.

Why?

The goal of this new position is to expand data and biosample sharing to others researching Alzheimer’s Disease. By facilitating collaboration, we can help advance scientific discoveries that will offer hope to Alzheimer’s patients and their loved ones.
