Research Cores of the CADRC

The Administrative Core provides the central infrastructure for the CADRC. It oversees operations, ensures coordination among partner institutions, manages communication, and supports compliance and strategic planning.

The Biomarker Core collects, stores, tracks, and analyzes biological samples to support research into genetic markers and molecular indicators of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

The Clinical Core conducts participant evaluations, research visits, and clinical assessments across University Hospitals and Cleveland Clinic. It manages recruitment, follow-up, and clinical data collection.

The DMSC develops and maintains the secure research database used across the CADRC. It also provides biostatistical expertise to support study design, data analysis, and research outcomes.

The Neuroimaging Core acquires, processes, and analyzes imaging data from research participants, supporting studies involving MRI, PET, and other imaging modalities.

The Neuropathology Core coordinates the postmortem donation, collection, storage, and characterization of brain tissue, providing critical resources for studies on Alzheimer’s pathology.

The OREC Core leads community outreach, participant recruitment, and engagement efforts to ensure inclusive representation in Alzheimer’s research across Northeast Ohio.

The REC supports early-career investigators through structured training, mentorship, and career development programs in Alzheimer’s and dementia research.
